CAN ANYONE COME TO A MEETING?
Absolutely. We would be happy to meet you. You have to be of at least 18 years old to become a member, but otherwise there are no restrictions.
HOW LONG DO TOASTMASTERS MEETINGS LAST?
Our meeting lasts 90 minutes. We start at 18:30 and end at 20:00. Afterwards we usually go for a drink in a nearby pub.
DO I NEED TO PREPARE FOR MY FIRST MEETING?
No preparation is needed. Just bring yourself!
WHICH LANGUAGE ARE MEETINGS HELD IN?
English. Many guests from all over the world come to our meetings.
HOW CAN I BECOME A MEMBER?
WHERE AND WHEN DO YOU MEET?
We meet every first and third Monday of the month.
We currently host hybrid meetings. We meet at Socialna akademija, Tržaška cesta 132 and online on Zoom at 6.30 pm.
Before the meeting we mingle a bit, therefore it's best if you come at 6:15 pm.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO HAPPEN IN MEETINGS?
Our meeting follows the standard format of Toastmasters meetings:
2 or 3 prepared speeches
We added two parts that are unique to our club:
Ideas to Practice: members present a good idea worth sharing, typically related to business/careers.
Members to Members: a chance for a member to pitch his / her idea, product or service.
You can find yourself on the stage as well. :-) And after the meeting, you are welcome to go for a drink with us in a nearby pub.
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE AT THE MEETING?
Usually there are between 12-20 people at one meeting.
